Which reading method should I choose?
Start with Automatic. It reads the native text layer and uses OCR for scans. For pages combining text and scanned images, or incorrect text that still contains ordinary characters, choose OCR all selected pages and compare the result with the source.
How accurately are numbers preserved?
Native numbers stay as text, without rounding or removing leading zeros. OCR can misread digits, even without highlighting. Check amounts, account numbers, identifiers and dates before use.
What does yellow highlighting mean?
It marks uncertain OCR readings or damaged font mappings. Targeted repair checks two image sizes for up to 24 lines per page. When readings disagree or remain unreadable, the replacement symbol � stays visible for manual review. OCR all selected pages may work better when the entire font mapping is damaged.
Will tables and columns match exactly?
Exact layout is not guaranteed. Detection targets aligned numeric tables with at least three rows. Complex tables, merged cells, equations, handwriting and rotated text may need editing in Word. Choose Keep lines if table detection does not fit your document.
What are the file and page limits?
PDFs may contain up to 300 pages and 200 MB. Editable conversion supports up to 100 selected pages, including at most 20 OCR pages per run. Image mode supports 30 pages. OCR processes one page at a time with image size limited for the device.
Where are my files processed?
Files and contents stay in the browser. The website delivers the program and language data to your device; it does not send the PDF or extracted text to the VPS or an external AI service.
