How to use What Is My IP?

Frequently asked questions
How is a public IP different from a private IP?
A public IP is the outbound address visible to internet websites. A private IP such as 192.168.x.x is used inside a home or organization and is not normally visible directly to websites.
How accurate is IP-based location?
It is an estimate based on the provider’s IP range and may be wrong at the city or regional level, especially on mobile, corporate or VPN connections. It is not a home address or GPS coordinate.
Why does my IP change with a VPN or mobile connection?
Websites see the exit IP of the VPN or mobile network. It can change with the server, cell tower, shared addressing or a new connection.
Does this prove that my VPN is not leaking?
No. The main result shows the IP used for this request, and the WebRTC section only checks local ICE candidates. It is not a complete VPN, DNS or privacy audit.
Who receives my IP during the check?
The browser calls ipwho.is directly for network and approximate-location details. If it does not respond, it calls api64.ipify.org for the IP only. PDFdee does not send the IP, ISP, city or WebRTC candidates back to analytics or the VPS database.
